Ireland’s Our Living Islands policy seeks to protect the nation’s coastal and island communities by creating sustainable economic growth opportunities. It focuses on job creation in tourism, renewable energy, and aquaculture. It also promotes the restoration and protection of the coastal and island environment. This new policy by Ireland allows its citizens to move to their offshore communities.
Residents of Ireland with appropriate immigration authorization can now move to and become part of the country’s offshore communities. Irish authorities have decided to pay 80,000 euros, or 71 lakh, to people willing to move to one of the country’s offshore communities. According to the government, the project is part of the ‘Our Living Islands’ policy, which was introduced by the Irish government to increase the population of the Irish islands.
Application for this scheme can be made from 1 July 2023. Non-EU/EEA nationals living outside Ireland are not eligible for this insurance. Please remain vigilant against scammers trying to exploit misconceptions about this scheme and be extremely suspicious of anyone purporting to offer Irish ‘relocation visas’. Always check with official Irish government sources about visas, especially the Irish Immigration Service homepage.”
