by An app named “Lucky Bill App” is going to launch on August 16th,2022 as part of stepped-up efforts to check tax evasion. The Lucky Bill App scheme will be launched by State Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department. Most special benefit of this app is that the is offering prizes to the public who upload GST invoices in this app, after making their purchases. Interested customer can download the app from Google Play Store or keralataxes.gov.in.
This app and the scheme is designed in such a way to encourage consumers to demand bills on making purchases and force traders to issue accurate GST bills. The government expecting that this will lead to a marked increase in tax revenues. This Lucky Bill App will be launched by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, department officials said.
They are offering Prizes worth ₹5 crore under this scheme. Uploading Bill via the app will help us to to win prizes through daily, weekly, and monthly draws in addition to a bumper prize of ₹25 lakh. By Daily draws, costumers can win a Kudumbashree gift packet worth ₹1,000 for each 25 winners and a Vanasree gift packet worth ₹1,000 each for 25 winners.
A 3-day/2-night free stay offered by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation is the weekly prize for 25 winners. The monthly draw carries a first prize of ₹10 lakh and second prize of ₹2 lakh each for five persons. In the 2022-23 State Budget by Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal has announced about the Lucky Bill App scheme, as a method to ensure that traders abided by the tax laws. An amount of ₹5 crore was allocated for the scheme.
