Meat products of India has released an official notification about the “Rearing of Male Buffalo/ Goats rearing Project under Buy Back System” scheme. The project is being implemented with the help of the Government of Kerala and the MPI. Under this scheme, 500 farmers from the state of Kerala will be selected and given two buffaloes and five female lambs to be reared.
Initially, there is no need for farmers to pay the price of children. But after rearing and enlarging them, these should be returned to the MPI. At that time these animals will be taken back at the market price, and on this occasion the price of the children will be recovered and the remaining amount will be paid to the farmers. The growing period is 12 months.
For this purpose, nine-month-old lambs and 12-month-old buffalo calves are given to farmers for rearing. The MPI will conduct insurance, veterinary aid and training. Those who are interested should register for the same either directly or online. The last date to register is July 30, 2023.
